Balenciaga's Fall/Winter 2024 Haute Couture Show

The Balenciaga Fall 2024 Couture Collection, presented in Paris, marked the House's 53rd couture collection and showcased a striking interplay of traditional craftsmanship and cutting-edge techniques. Creative director Demna placed unconventional groups like goths, skaters, and metalheads at the heart of the show, blending their unique styles with the codes of founder Cristóbal Balenciaga's midcentury couture.

The collection featured hallmark elements of Balenciaga's legacy, including oversized cocoon shapes, three-quarter-length sleeves, and wrap jackets. These classic silhouettes were complemented by oversized statement hats, creating a dramatic and memorable visual impact. Models also brandished old-school look numbers, adding a nostalgic touch to the contemporary collection.

A notable poetic element of the collection was the incorporation of butterfly motifs, symbolizing transformation and beauty. This motif added an ethereal quality to the pieces, further enhancing the collection's blend of the avant-garde with the traditional.
